CC in PIB

CC is a site-specific generative music installation by Terry Vreeburg and me. A computer program generates rhythmical patterns from a predefined set of sound samples, and each iteration of the pattern is alternated between the left and right speaker, creating the effect of a dialogue. In an installation the two speakers are positioned/hidden in carefully chosen locations in the space.

The video below, showing the CC exhibit in the Pataphysisches Institut Basel, Switzerland, gives a global idea of the project, although the spatial sound experience is missing. In the video, the sound is coming from the black oil barrel and the black ‘chimney’ alternately.
