Oxalis and I created a short comic story as a wedding presents for two friends of ours. They once got the idea of a super hero called ‘Apa Kenapa’ (meaning ‘what? why?’ in Indonesian), and we further developed that idea into a short story where Apa Kenapa, of course, saves the world. The story also features the infamous and omnipresent Dr. Gigi, a meerkoet in the Leiden canals, the ‘bau ketek’ attack, and some of our friends.

The comic was created from two opposite sides of the globe: we would send our scanned drawings to each other and paste them together digitally. Many frames contain drawings by both of us. A few examples can be seen below.
